Grange Farm have been producing and selling logs for 18 years. During that time there have been many improvements to the production cycle of logs, from the first felling of the logs through to the drying and storing of the logs. There has also been a considerable improvement to the machinery used in log production and Grange Farm Logs have invested steadily in top quality, highly efficient log splitting equipment. We source the majority of timber from FSC managed forests within a 100 mile radius of their Warrington base.
Timber is seasoned on site for a minimum of 12 months before it is passed on to production. Once adequately seasoned the timber will be split into logs and remains in covered storage before final distribution to customers. We split all logs into 10 inch lengths. Logs are available as netted bags or a variety of loose load sizes.
Please feel free to call in and see first hand how efficiently we operate. See our windrowed ‘mountains’ of logs seasoning prior to production. Having been seasoned for at least 1 year the wood will then be split into logs using our up to date, well maintained equipment. A small quantity of logs will be netted up but the majority will be stored as loose logs ready for distribution via our website or direct from the yard shop. Wherever possible we like to reduce packaging, such as the large white builder bags, as this only creates disposal problems. Customers frequently like to visit us before they take their first order so they can see the quality of the split logs we produce and also take advantage of the advice available from our knowledgeable staff. It is an opportunity to take a small quantity of products to try to see which better suits your appliance. Generally logs are cut to 10 inch lengths. Please ask if you require anything different, we can usually oblige. Kindling is cut to 8 inch lengths and is usually pine or poplar. We pride ourselves on always supplying logs ready to burn – wet, unseasoned logs are less efficient. Be aware when buying logs by weight, if you are unlucky enough for the logs to be wet you will generally find you get less for your money.
The woodyard shop is open for customers to purchase supplies on the following days:
